Strangely enough its been exactly one year since I wrote my last journal entry closing off commissions. The main reason I did this was because I had a handful of clients whom needed several pieces done over a period of time. I took a few random one off jobs here and there, but they were few and far between.
I just recently went through all of my backlog of notes and responded to the more recent commissions inquires. However there were many from a quite awhile ago. So I'm officially reopening my commissions and will be checking notes on a regular basis once again.
A few FAQ:
Q: "What do you charge?"
A: There really is no set price. I take that on a case by case basis. It depends on what exactly you'd like, how complicated it will be and what the piece for. Send me a note for details.
Q: "I think you charge too much, I know someone who does the same sort of work, but charges less."
A: Well so go ask them for a commission. I believe what I charge is very fair for the quality of work I do and the amount of time I spend on each piece. Too many artists undercharge for their work anyway.
Q: "I can't afford to pay you, but I need you to design X for me. A lot of people will see your X so just think of it as free advertising and if anyone asks about it I'll point them in your direction!"
A: That is not a form of payment, and I seriously hope if anyone asks about my work you'd point them in my direct regardless of what I charge you.
Q: "I see you have many commissions posted here, but I dont want you displaying my work until X date, or ever."
A: Thats fine just let me know. I always ask before posting anything here anyway.
Q: "How long does one piece take to create?"
A: Depends on how complicated it is, but usually within 2-3 weeks from the time I start.
Q: "I have a rush job that has to be done very soon, can you help?"
A: Possibly, it depends on my work load. Just know that rush jobs will be cost a little extra.
