I've had several people ask why I do so many images of Wonder Woman. Is she my favorite superhero? Can't say that she is, I prefer batman, in fact I never even read a single Wonder Woman comic. Do I have some weird infatuation with her? Not that I'm aware of. I just think she deserves a better live action treatment than she has been given. On top of that at times DC seems to be trying to morph the character into either Superman or Batman.

It started back about a year and a half ago when NBC announced that a new TV show starring Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman was in the works. But then they revealed her costume...it was horrible. It looked like a cheap Halloween costume. I wanted to do the character justice and give her a costume that both looked good and yet was loyal to the original. The only other notable live action version of the character was the Lynda Carter show from the 70's. And although we all love Lynda as Wonder Woman it was very cheesy and campy.

I was also inspired by this poster portraying Megan Fox as Wonder Woman: www.wonder-who.com/the-posters… . The poster got some attention a few years back and even though the creator obviously had some decent photoshop skills, the costume looked pretty fake. The arrogant artist in me came out and said "pshhhh, I can do better than that." Man he can be a jerk sometimes...:D

I've always loved doing Photoshop collages, there's something about the challenge of taking multiple photos and trying to make them all look like one cohesive image that i just really enjoy. Anyway so I did my own version of a Wonder Woman poster. Then moved on to Aquaman and the original golden age version of the Flash. The idea was to do "real" versions superheros who haven't been done well in live action or not at all. But I realized that my Wonder Woman was gaining much more attention than the others. So I figured why not do more, and I did another, and another and another. I started to really enjoy experimenting with new techniques of creating the costume and honing in on what I thought looked good and what didn't. I was also really motivated by all the positive feedback I was receiving.

Now its gotten to the point that whenever I come across a stock image of a woman online, I cant help but think to myself "Can I turn her into Wonder Woman?". Its some sort of metal illness I'm pretty sure.

As incredible as your recent Supergirl pics have been, i can only imagine how fantastic Wonder Woman would look with another year of practice under your belt. ;) (yes, I'm subtle) :D

i kn ow what you mean about wonder woman not being done any justice. I have a love hate relationship with her costume. god knows if i draw her i would do a tweaked modified version of it. there are a few industry pros And "DA heavy hitters" that do a good job with renditions of her, but for the most part she is one of those characters that is a bad ass staple that you just want to draw because you think why are people not doing her any justice when the render her!?!?! :smack: one day she will appear in my gallery. no where near as many times as yours, lol,...but i feel you. :pc:

Your work reminds me a lot of another artist, R.F. Koert [link] He focuses mainly on women in Latex, but he has done several versions of Wonder Woman in her wetsuit costume from the Lynda Carter tv series [link] It would be very interesting to see your take on this outfit, since you've done so many images of WW.

I created my login here just to be possible to comment in your pictures.
But I am happy to see we have more things in common.
I started to love HQ with Batman. I like this hero because he is SMART, not so strong but... he is HUMAN. He is a trained men. He is like a BETTER Cop, a person who lives to battle with the evil.
I like your pictures. Specially Wonder Woman ones.
No, I have never read a HQ about Wonder Woman. I don't know very much about her.
But..
In this world, I think she is inspiration for a lot of Women (real ones) that go to the GYM, school, help in house, etc. They are real Wonder Women.
She is a way that GIRLS can see to the world: HEY, we are heros, too. Not only MEN.

About the Wonder Women uniform: I did not like them, too.
I like a Sexy Wonder Woman.
Fox is not for me the BEST option to be the Wonder Woman.

If I could suggest you one FACE for your next work to Wonder Woman, take a look in this Girl + Shape:
facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=466711843349688

Wonder Woman is strong and sexy and the same time. Not a weak girl that have never trained anything in the gym (or almost not).

Just a suggestion.
I hope you don't mind.

You're suggestions are certainly welcome. I agree about Megan Fox not being a good Wonder Woman, but I've never used Fox for any of my Wonder Woman images.

Cheryl Rosenberger is nice, but her upper body is a bit too thick and muscular for me. Also not a fan of her fake boobs.

Thank you for you reply, Jeffach!
I like her fake boobs...ahaahaha.

About Megan Fox, I saw one picture here in deviantArt, for this I wrote her name. She is a pretty girl, but she is far away of the Wonder Woman's body. My opinion.

I see heroes like people who need Muscle to combat the evil. It is not possible to imagine that a weak girl can be a hero.

This is not a critic of your work. Just my opinion in general.

I'd like, if possible, to give you suggestion in your next works, if you allow me.
I am sure you are a busy person.

Have a nice week!

I don't suppose you'd consider doing a piece featuring Veronica Cale (Elizabeth Hurley) fighting Wonder Woman (Adrianne Palicki) in whatever revamped suit you wish to give her? I seem to remember a line in the cringe-worthy pilot where Cale asks Wonder Woman if she wants to "feel her muscle". Gotta say the biggest heartache was the show teasing that match-up and not even getting past the pilot!

Since the First Creator of Wonder Woman was into Bondage and Domination he designed a Heroine with weaknesses.
Bracelets like hers were always the Sign of a Servant. The Lasso that can be turned against her was also quite refined. That she as an Amazone was sent into then "Men's Men's World" alone without help, sure endangered her to Villains as well.
But finding Storylines that get her into Bounds and Perils without making her looking like a brainless Bimbo and still be acceptable to sell to Kids and adolescent Boys was surely never easy.
For Fans it was always easier to imagine why she always has to go through some "Beautiful Loser" Humiliations.
In the old Sagas Heros have to go through kathartic Pains to save "their World" but the mostly never had to serve the Need of Serials that go on for ever.
So at the End they could die heroically as Martytrs or mary the Kings 2nd Daughter or so.

But those Problems should not bother you so much that you'd stop your drawings of a Best-Dressed Heroine in Town.

Megan Gale had actually been cast in the JL movie, she would have made a great WW - at least by her physique and looks, I don't know how her acting would have been. Still, you might look at her for inspiration ;)

As a Wonder Woman fan (and just a fan of the powerful women of the DCU in general -see profile/avatar pic- ) I never really felt the need to inquire as to why you were creating so many amazing glimpses of the Amazon Princess, I was just happy to look at them in awe and think, "Brilliant."

I feel the success of your work does, in fact, come from the decision you made to simply do the character justice, and in that you claimed victory in spades. I, likewise, have been rather disheartened by the treatment of her over the years, and never felt lower then when I not only saw the original promotional still of the live action WW, but actually sat down and watched a Boot-Leg of the series Pilot. If you haven't seen it consider yourself fortunate. Read the script, it's bad enough.

The problem Warner Bros/DC Comics is having is that they've chosen to stop caring about doing WW justice and instead focused on how they can squeeze money out of her by appealing to one demographic or another. They tried first with several restarts of her series pre-New 52, then they ret-conned her story and made her an Urban crime fighter who apparently raided Black Canary's wardrobe. Finally we have the New-52 version which, while still not her glorious original self, is at least a step in the right direction.

What I've loved the most about your work is that what I see is *Wonder Woman.* Not an alternate reality version, or an edgy urban version, or a "tougher" version or anything of the sort. It's just Wonder Woman, as she has been ingrained in the minds of several generations of readers. For that, I can never properly communicate my appreciation and thanks.
:handshake:

As a side note, I did wonder: There has been talk about who *could* play her in the confirmed film they have, once again, decided to attempt. One of the names thrown around, and one which I rather approve off (would prefer an unknown be cast, but that's not my call) is Gina Carano. I feel she has the looks, build, and skill to make the character have great presence on screen, and we say in "Haywire" that she can act fairly well. Now, as an artist and considering your work, do you believe she could be Wonder Woman?

I've seen the bootleg, it was about as bad as I was expecting.

I definitely agree that the problem with the character lately is how they kept trying to twist her into something else. They gave her pants and a jacket made her some sort of vigilante like Batman. Or turn her into some big millionaire CEO like Bruce Wayne like they did in the failed pilot. I also think that giving her the ability to fly was DC trying to make her more of a female Superman.

As far as Gina goes she does have the right look, but I never saw Haywire so I cant comment how well she acted. But I agree they should go with an unknown. Their best bet may be trying to find some athlete / fitness model who can act. And Christina Hendrix would just be a joke.

(*Chuckles*) Yeah, I remember that comment she made. She's pretty and all (great in Mad Men, Firefly, etc) but, yeah, no. Just no. Well, it's awesome to know you have the best interests of Wonder Woman in mind going forward. Really can't wait to see what you've got in store next.

Thank you mental illness.

I don't read comics myself but I've always loved the character and the proper costume. I think it's simply because she was the first superheroine (I think) that I have to give her total respect even if DC won't.

You're really good, but you might want to consider some variety in your female superheroine material. Marvel's recent rebranding of Ms. Marvel as Captain Marvel would be interesting to see, as would Phoenix (whom I think you haven't done yet, but I may be confused).
